Reading Journal Rubric

After you read write a summary in your Reading Journal about what you have read.

After you write check your sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, and spelling. Also, check for the following:

• Do you have at least 6 complete sentences?
• Did you include a beginning, middle, and end?
• Did you use interesting vocabulary without overusing common words?
• Did you check for punctuation and capitalization rules?
• Is your handwriting neat and easy to read?
• Did you use neat penmanship?

Your Reading Journals are due every Friday and must be signed by your parent/guardian for a grade.
